Changes to the region’s water management plan to protect the lakes would not be occurring without the involvement of CTWC. It is imperative that we remain steadfast in our advocacy for lake interests. We’ve made progress but will need an even stronger voice in the future. We can’t continue without your support. Help us ensure receding shorelines don’t become the norm.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO SUPPORT OUR HIGHLAND LAKES AND DRINKING WATER SUPPLY

A Message From the President
Jo Karr Tedder

Hasn’t it been wonderful to watch the lakes recover this summer? It’s hard to believe it’s been four years since we’ve seen them this full.
Hopefully by now all Central Texans realize we need to remain vigilant if we want to keep our lakes healthy and productive and protect our drinking water. If it hadn’t been for our ongoing work with LCRA these last 4 years to get emergency orders in place, more water could have been released downstream – despite the ongoing drought conditions.
Now that we are beginning to see economic activity return to where it used to be, it’s important for us to continue to protect our region’s interests and our water. If we relax and think state agencies will do it for us, we run the risk of seeing history repeat itself.
As an advocate for sensible water management, we rely solely on your financial support to continue protecting our water and the lakes. I hope you will consider making a contribution to CTWC, participating in our fundraising events and becoming a “Guardian of the Lakes” member.
Thank you for your support!
